Kewlox furniture is entirely manufactured in Belgium, a choice that reduces transportation, limits the carbon footprint, and ensures controlled production based on recycling raw materials and responsible energy use. This approach also relies on collaborations with organizations like Bois Local and certifications such as PEFC, which ensure sustainable forest management in Europe and responsible traceability of the wood used
2. Eco-design as a sustainable driver
At Kewlox, production optimizes material use by reusing offcuts. Since 2001, the factory has evolved to reduce its environmental impact: waste is transformed into resources, including for heating the facilities. Thanks to an internal raw material recycling system combined with optimized electronic equipment management, production becomes both more responsible and less energy-consuming.
3. Repairable and demountable furniture
Thanks to its modular system, a Kewlox piece of furniture can be repaired over the years: a damaged panel or worn door? No need to replace the entire piece. All spare parts are available individually and are compatible with older furniture, as the standard dimensions have never changed. The structure itself comes with a lifetime guarantee. At the end of their life, each Kewlox piece of furniture has been designed to be easily disassembled and sorted. Solid wood, MDF panels, acrylic, steel, and even packaging plastic (LDPE) are 100% recyclable: each material can be separated and given a new life, either through material or energy recovery. Thanks to this system, Kewlox furniture avoids any ‘final’ end-of-life and fits perfectly within a circular economy approach.
